LYNX has all your cutting needs in mind.

The LYNX was designed to fill all your two-axis contour cutting needs. The unique concept of the LYNX was to combine a high performance CNC control with the world renowned Linatrol tracing and servo-drive systems. The resulting single integrated system... the LYNX ... is a rugged, dependable cutting control that is extremely easy to use. Also, installation is greatly simplified as no external interface or controls to the cutting machine are required ... just connect the torch lifters and gas solenoids directly to the LYNX. This eliminates interface complications often encountered with competitors systems. Furthermore, the LYNX provides the flexibility to adapt to most cutting machines in operation today. Although primarily used with plasma and oxy-fuel cutting processes, the LYNX can bereadily applied to several other cutting applications, including high pressure water jet, hot wire, router and others.

Hardware Specifications

Dual microprocessor system. Up to 512 KB battery back-up part program memory. Nonvolatile storage of all set-up data. Integrated operation (CNC, Tracer and Cutting Controls). 240 x 64 pixel, 8 line x 40 character LCD graphics display. Optically isolated RS-232C port, baud rates to 19.2K. Optically isolated interface for oxy-fuel and plasma cutting. Optically isolated input for Tracing Unit and Encoders.

Cutting Control Operation

Provides direct interface to, and control of, gas solenoids and torch lifters without the need for a separate control system. Automatic ignition control. Programmable preheat/pierce times with countdown timer for preheat time with manual override (remembers modified times for next pierce cycle). Programmable purge, ignition and pierce timing for plasma operation.

Manual Data Input (MDI)

Create and edit part programs using either EIA (RS-274D) or ESSI (ISO 6582) part programming languages. Scrolling part program display. Edit downloaded part program at the control. Display comment text of downloaded programs for operator information.

 

LYNX Drive Systems

The LYNX is offered with a wide variety of drive system options to allow selection of the drive system best suited for the target machine. The drive system comprises either 2 drive units, one in each axis or 3 units with one in the transverse axis and two fully synchronized in the longitudinal axis. The drive amplifiers can be either linear or PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) types.

CAD Download

Download part programs via built-in serial port using RS-232. Accepts EIA (RS-274D) or ESSI (ISO 6582) part programs. Auto-reload feature allows downloading unlimited length programs. Dialog mode allows machine operator to review and select programs for download.

Optional Disk Drive.

This optional 3.5 inch 1.44 mb disk drive will give you the capacity to load/save NC programmes via diskette.

Digitally programmable tracing speed. Automatic part closure detection and tracer stop with programmable underlap/overlap. Edge of line or silhouette tracing. Digitally programmable kerf. Command Mark detection for corner slowdown. Trace Teach Digitizing Mode. Intelligent line detection algorithm optimizes memory requirements. All communication and part transformation options available for trace taught parts. Automatic conversion of traced part to EIA RS-274D or ESSI format. The LYNX has full featured I/O for direct connection to torch lifters and gas solenoids. Mating connectors are supplied to simplify installation.
